Empathize: In our Empathize Phase, our main goal was to really understand how the people feel about their community. To find that understanding, we visited those communities to interview local citizens and business owners asking questions about what they'd like to see happen in their community.

Ideate: The ideation phase is where we brainstormed different ideas on to different post-it notes, organized them into categories, i.e., ideas for events, teaching the community, or reaching out to the community for help. This
process helped us discuss the needs of the community and our ideas on how to cater to that specific need. |
Prototype: In the protoype phase, we started to implement our project on the community of National City. We went to National City Middle School to meet with the students in Ms. Leslie Bustos' AVID classes and talked to them about our ideas and our project. We also went to ARTS (A Reason To Survive) and met with Rob Tobin to talk about what we were going to do and where. We met with consultants, and talked to them about what we were going to do with our project in the community.
