Community Highlights :
Our community cohort loves how art driven the community of National City is. When we went to visit National City, we loved how prideful the community was with their local art. We saw paintings, sculptures, and murals in every corner of the community and we just loved how National City displays the art that their locals create. We also really liked the people that live in the community. They are all interested, and attentive members who care about their community. They want National City to look beautiful, and we want to help them create the beauty that the locals want.

Community Needs :
After we attended a National City Council Meeting, we identified the needs of the community by interviewing subjects that were at the meeting. After interviewing four students from Sweetwater High School, a local school in National City, they said that they really want to make a change on how people view the community, but they feel like they do not have the power to do so. A Reason To Survive (A.R.T.S.) is deeply loved by the public, and locals really love what ARTS does with the community, and how they create art for National City. After hearing that, we really want to involve students and youth to give them confidence, and to teach them that they can make a change if they put their minds to it.
